2000 Ford F150 XLT Sport

October 28th, 2003 I brought home my new baby, a 2000 F150 XLT Sport. I choked up and sent my baby, W/T, off to the trade in heaven in the sky. After 6 years, he had served me well, but it was time to move up and on. Time to go shopping.
I found this beauty at Collins Ford Mercury. She was parked right next to the road saying to me "drive me!!!" She was everything that I was looking for, and everything that W/T couldn't be. 4x4, air conditioning, power everything. I test drove her on Friday, October 24th, 2003, and fell in love. Three days later, I played hooky from work and was scheduling pick up for my new pickup.

So, here are most of the options- 4x4, Triton V8 5.4 liter, towing package, premium CD with premium speakers, overhead console, alarm, remote starter, air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, tinted windows, bed liner, running boards, sliding rear window, center console, over head console, window deflectors, bug guard, Reese hitch, alloy wheels... ummm.... I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I have a 48 month/48,000 mile warrenty, and I was able to get a new bed liner, floor mats, new wipers, emmissions, and a free oil change. They washed and waxed it for me, and sprayed the magical "new car smell" into it.

A rare "look what I'm doing when I should be driving" shot... The stereo is a source of constant amusement to me, since it is the first one with RDS that I've had. This scrolls the song name, the station name, and all sorts of useless information that distracts me from actually driving. In March 2005 I had to replace the passenger door power lock, and took the opportunity to put in 4 new Pioneer 220w 3-way speakers, big difference over the stock 25w!
Besides the K&N, the red trailer hitch, and the red touches under the hood, I swapped out the Ford stock bug guard with this nice "inferno" one. I've since put on some flame light covers as well. I've got a flame cover on the 3rd brake light and the rear license plate. The latest edition in April 2005 is this lovely cat-back exhaust with straight pipes and resinator tips. It is a beautiful deep growl, a bit too loud for polite company, but it is perfect. There is definately a change in horsepower as well!
