1993 Chevy C1500 W/T

Real women do drive trucks. I won't ever drive some grocery getter, import or family sedan.

.
I bought W/T when he had 19,000 miles on him in the summer of 1998. This truck was like my child. I treated him like my first born- bathing him every weekend, buying him things, treating him right. I even bought Eileen and Vicki for him, so I wouldn't put so much mileage on him and he wouldn't be lonely. I talked to him, even hugged him. I don't know what it is, but this truck gave me a zen like state.
As you can see, I added a lot of extras to him. Note the "Heartbeat of America" floor mats? W/T has the 4.3L 6, which, is a nice engine, but a small 8 would be better. Towing proved to be difficult up hills. Being the W/T package, there are very little frills on this vehicle. The options on the window sticker include 4 speakers (over the stock 2), cloth seat (over stock vinal), 4 speed automatic transmition (over the stock 5 speed), limited slip differencial, sliding rear window, and an AM/FM radio (over the stock AM). So, what am I missing? Air conditioning, 4 wheel drive, power windows, and power locks are the options I'd prefer to have. Atleast I could open the back window for extra ventalation. Adding 400 pounds of weight in the body made winter driving fairly good, and I added a new stereo shortly after I bought him and disconnected the intergrated one. My truck got broken into in my own yard in 2002, and I lost my Pioneer stereo- I replaced it with an extra Sony I had on the shelf and bought a new Kenwood system. I also added new Pioneer speakers- the truck was deafening.
I traded him in when I purchased my F150 in October of 2003, getting $5000 for him.
I like lights. Can you tell? The 3 bar light in the back, the driving lights, and the light covers are giant clues. I also added all of the window guards, back window first. Not having A/C, I needed to be able to leave as many windows open in the rain as possible. The running boards were the first addition with the gas cap and CB.
Shortly after I bought the truck, I upgraded the tires to these WONDERFUL ones, the biggest ones I could get for it. Good tires made the shitty stock rims and black centers look bad. So, I went through phases of wheel covers. Here's a hint. You don't put hub caps on a pick up for a reason. They come off off-road, they come off when you corner too fast, they fall off if you don't bang them back on on a weekly basis. I can't tell you how often I chased these puppies down the road, into the woods, etc. Those of you with a keen eye, the style #2 are actually 70's style Ford pick up metal hub caps- I am aware that I have committed a sin. Yes, I did finally give up on this mess- and repainted the rims, as they got scratched up and rusted from all of this nonsense.
